What is Health Idol? It's a health programme to help people get their body back in balance, weather they want to lose weight or or recover from illness 

 

Will you make my personal details public? No. However we do use some stories for proomotion, however we will always use your permission first.

 

Will I be videoed? Only if you want to be.

What qualifications do your trainers have? All our trainers are highly qualified C.H.E.K. nutrition and lifestyle coaches. We are also a member of the FIA and all our trainers are members of REPs.

 

How much weight will I lose? If you stick to the plan 80% we guarantee you could lose over 1-stone in 6-weeks. If you stick to the plan 60% maybe you will lose a few pounds, the more you commit the more you will lose.

 

What if I don't lose weight? In the first few weeks you may not lose weight or you may even put on weight. This is normally due to your increased water intake and the change to foods rich in water. If you do not start losing weight after 3 weeks our team and we will look at your portion size and your food/exercise diary in more detail.

 

Why do I have to give up fizzy drinks? Any carbonated liquids will initially make you feel full, however after this and in the long term they will increase the size of your stomach and you may need to eat more to feel full.

 

Why is sugar so bad? Sugar provides you with energy, but any sugar not used will be stored as fat, their is no nutritional benefits to eating sugar. However a limited amount of unprocessed fat also provides energy and more importantly gives our body essential fatties acids required for us to stay healthy. Always remember "our bodies don't need desserts."

 

Will I put on the weight when I stop this diet? Our plan is not a short term diet, our foods are a healthy plan everyone should be eating to be fit and healthy forever. Whenever you eat unhealthy foods they can bloat your body making you look and feel fat.

 

What is my ideal weight? You may wish to refer to the official BMI (Body Mass Index) chart for guidance, but please note this does not take into account your build and muscle mass:

 

What if I can not exercise? You must exercise at some level to keep your body alive and well. Please speak to one of our trainers if you have any exercise special needs.

 

What if I can not attend the Gym everyday? We don’t want you to attend a gym everyday. Adding exercise to your lifestyle is about walking, cycling or swimming, with your friends, and playing team games like tennis or football with your family. Our formal exercise sessions of group fitness classes and gym sessions are important in the beginning of this plan, but also start to add extra exercise based activities with your family and friends so you can enjoy exercise forever.

 

What is the Metabolic diet? This way of eating has been researched by scientists for over 50 years, we need to eat to our genetic heritage. For example Eskimos and some south American Indians still eat their traditional diet and there is no obesity or genetic diseases within their communities. We are all different on the inside, one person’s food it another person’s poison! The metabolic types are based on us eat 3 different ratios and we recommend to eat seasonal, local, organic and a good variety of foods.

 

I am a Vegetarian/Vegan, how can I use the metabolic typing diet? We strongly recommend your body needs animal flesh for optimum health and weight loss. Read our > independent research from Paul Chek 

 

My doctor told me not to eat too many eggs? Eggs were considered to be one of the most complete and pure sources of protein by many pioneering nutritionists. Unadulterated eggs are, in fact, not only an excellent source of protein, they're also a great source of dietary fats. Despite claims that eggs have too much fat or cholesterol, a healthy egg contains adequate lecithin to emulsify the fats in an egg, making the whole egg a well balanced, natural food source that is healthy. The problem today is that the egg is only as good as the bird, which is only as good as it's environment and the food it ate, which is only as good as the soil it was raised on. Chickens that live a natural life, by the design of Mother Nature, produce eggs composed of quality proteins and an optional omega-3:omega-6 fat ratio. A free-range egg will have a ratio between 1:1 and 1:4 while a typical commercially raised chicken egg will be as high as 1:16-30. This presents a problem for those who eat too many conventionally raised eggs, as too much omega-6 fatty acid in your diet facilities the process of inflammation in our bodies. There was a big scare regarding cholesterol content in eggs during the 1908s. However, many don't understand that cholesterol is a key building block for all cells and is produced by our bodies as a response to stress. When there's an inflammatory process, there's an elevated need for cholesterol. Stress, alcohol, medical drugs and many food additives are all capable of causing inflammation in the gut. 

Can I drink decaffeinated drinks? Not really. Although decaffeinated drinks does not contain caffeine, is still contains theobromine and theophylline which are two chemicals that can disturb normal sleep patterns. Also they still contain the substance that cause breast problems. Most decaffeinated coffee has been decaffeinated by chemicals which can remain in the product.

What are the caffeine withdrawal symptoms? Thankfully, more and more people are now becoming aware of the health problems associated with addictive drinks and are turning to alternatives. However, as with all drugs there can be quite dramatic withdrawal symptoms if you stop too suddenly. These include

Will weight training make me muscular? Exercise will tone and shape muscles plus increase the size, however females have hormones to reduce the growth when weight training.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Will smoking affect my weight loss? Yes. The toxins being put in your system will stop your body absorbing the nutrients in food and your body will hang onto fat as it's starving for nutrients.

How much aerobic exercise should I do in one session? No more than 40 minutes as you will start to break down muscle tissue.

Can I eat Soy? – The only soy that should be eaten is traditional naturally fermented. Processed soy contains MSG's which are toxic and your body can not break them down, which can lead to mayor health problems.

Can I have dairy as my protein? Yes if you are a mixed or carbohydrate type. Protein types must have animal flesh at every main meal time, including breakfast.

Are eggs and butter officially Dairy produce? No. They are just put in to this category because of their nutritional contents.

What is the best Salmon to eat? Wild this is naturally a deep red colour. (Note farmed Salmon is often given food colours) then second best is organic fish.

What fish should I avoid because of high in mercury? Deep sea fish such as Tuna, Shark and Swordfish.

Why do I find it easier to lose weight in the earlier in the year? Because your internal body clock automatically recognises the longest day of the year and from mid summer is better at storing fat ready for the winter.

Can I have fruit smoothies or fresh juice? Freshly squeezed/smoothed within minutes only. When you cut an orange in half it loses half it nutrients within one minute. After an hour all these products are just sugared water.

What is the best source of omega 3? Organic AND free range eggs.

How many eggs can I safely eat? The latest research proves you can eat as many organic free range eggs as you like due to the good fats and nutrients they contain. However we recommend you have 2 days per week with no eggs at all so you don't become intolerant to them.

Can I reverse a diabetes condition with nutrition? Yes type 2 can be cured, and type 1 can be under control with good nutrition.

What is a sign of diabetes? Syndrome X! You become apple shaped around your middle and can suffer from various health issues before becoming diabetic.

Is there anything that helps thyroid problems? Coconut oil and strictly eating to your metabolic type will help the symptom and get it under control. Also thyroid problems are hindered by metal, have metal fillings removed by a holistic dentist and do not eat tinned foods or deep sea fish containing mercury, i.e. Tuna.

What are the 3 toxin land mines? Smoking, Mercury and Fluoride.

I heard cheap metal pans and cookware are bad for me? This is 100% correct. Buy good quality certified pans such as www.saladmaster.com or use ceramic/glass on a lower heat.

How can I get a healthy vacuum cleaner? The ones that release less tiny dust particles are ones that have a "recycle air flow system" such as top quality brands Dyson and Kirby.

How do I get rid of toxins from my home and office? Detox by reducing the amount of metal, plastic and chemical items from your all your rooms and cupboards.

Are water filters good for cleaning tap water? They will remove one or two items but still not as a high quality filtration system on a tap or on the whole house water supply.

Why are things that are perfumed and fragranced bad? These are chemical toxins. An alternative is essential oils watered down.

What candles should I use? Only bees wax candles.

Why should I get a house plants? They release oxygen and absorb toxins. The best ones to get are ferns and spier plants.

What other places or items can be toxic? Cleaners, soaps, make-up, bug killers on grass and golf courses, chlorine swimming pools, Jacuzzis and houses, cars and carpets under one year old.

Why is good personal hygiene good for losing weight? Washing gets rid of toxins and toxins stop you from losing weight. Good personal hygiene is not wearing lots perfume and deodorant, but tackling the route problems and washing regularly.

Why do I need a shower filter? If you do not have your house water filtered then you can buy a small filter to add onto your shower to reduce the chlorine in the water. (60% of chemicals touching your skin are absorbed)

Why am I not able to have sex? If you do not feel safe, are unwell or feel stressed your body will not release sexual hormones, if you address your health issues your body will come back to balance.

What if I am very acidic or alkaline? If you are acidic this is a protein type trait and being alkaline is a carbohydrate type trait. Get your body back in balance with the Metabolic Typing Diet.

On the metabolic type dieting diet I prescribed low fat or non fat foods, what is this? This is NOT processed foods such as skimmed milk. It is much healthier for example to eat watered down full fat milk and naturally lower fat cheese, i.e. Edam.

How much proteins and carbs should I be eating?

  • Mixed types should eat 50% Protein and 50% Carbs
  • Carbohydrate types should eat 40% Protein and 60 Carbs
  • Protein types should eat 70% Protein and 30 Carbs (but this can range from 65-90% protein and 35-10% protein.)

The amount of fat you should be eating as part of your protein can also vary. To find out we recommend an advanced metabolic type test or you can simple try yourself at home with different percentages and see how your body feels.

How big is a portion? They can vary to how big a person you are and how hungry you are. Carbohydrates are your handful, protein is the size of the back on your fist and fat is a tablespoon.  2 eggs are classed as ONE portion of protein.

How many portions should I be eating?

  • Carbohydrate types – 3 carbs and 2 protein
  • Protein types – 3 protein and 1 carbs
  • Mixed types – 2 carbs and 2 protein

*** For weight loss you should a large breakfast, medium lunch and small dinner

Could my mercury teeth filling be affecting my health? Yes, seriously. You should look to have these removed only by a holistic/biological dentist; they will be replaced by composite or porcelain fillings. The cost for 4 teeth is around 2,000 GBP (correct July 2008) and can be cheaper in the USA.

I am pregnant, should I avoid mercury? Yes at all costs! Have mercury fillings removed only via a holistic dentist and avoid foods containing mercury, i.e. Deep sea fish: Tuna.

If I am gluten intolerant what are the best grains to eat? Rice, millet, buckwheat and Corn

If I am diary intolerant why can I eat butter and eggs okay? Because they are not officially diary products. You can also try goat and raw diary products.

What else can I do to help me lose weight? DETOX! The less toxic your system the easier your body will release fat. Also the more stressed you become the more you are likely to store fat.

What do foods get the organic stamp? In the UK farmers have to prove they have not used harmful chemicals for 2 years and then they can be registered as organic.

I read once that organic food had the same amounts of nutrients as GM raised? This media raised issue was on a test carried out which showed 19 out of 20 organic items had much more nutrients than non-organic. The media however featured the one test that showed the organic and non-organic had the same amount of nutrients and there are many variables that were not disclosed.

What affect to chemicals have on animal? For instance cows usually from birth to the slaughter house take 5 years to develop. With modern chemicals it can be as short as 18 months and the cow obviously will have much less nutrients held in its body that can be passed on to us.

What are the best organic vegetables to buy? The following organic vegetables contain much more nutrients than their non-organic versions:

  • Apples
  • Celery
  • Potatoes
  • Spinach

What are the real affect of white sugar? 1 teaspoon suppresses the immune system 50% for 4 hours. One can of cola can contains up to 27 teaspoons of sugar.

Should I move onto raw dairy? Yes but only slowly. Going from lots of pasteurized straight to lots of raw can caused problems due to your body needs to released the correct chemicals to break the foods down. Children and pregnant ladies should not move to raw dairy. Raw cheese is often sold in supermarkets.

How can I stop falling for the wrong partners or improve my current situation? Do not look for in a partner what you are missing in yourself. Also when in a relationship do not blame others, take responsibility or ownership of problems.

How many times should I be ideally breathing per minute? 12.

What is the wheel of death? We may feed chemicals to the ground to grown the crops, the crops/insects then feed the plants, the plants then feed the animals, we then eat the animals and they contain the chemicals we first put into the ground.

What is the best water to drink? Top brand mineral water… =/> 300 ppm TDS. Hardness =/> 170 mg/l. pH 7 or grater.

What is stress? These are the 6 main stressors

How do I use the food chats if I am a mixed type? You need to plan and organise your meals carefully to keep your body in balance. You should eat your carbs from one chart and one protein from the other, and then switch at every meal.

Should I snack before bed? If you have trouble sleeping you can have a snack according to your metabolic type a few hours before bed. This is especially helpful for protein types. The following foods simulate sleep hormones: almonds, chicken, eggs and red meat.

Why should I stop using anti bacterial cleaners and taking tablets like antibiotics? They get absorbed by all your body and you will kill your good bacteria too, which is essential to maintain good health.

Why should I reduce and then ditch all modern drugs and tablets? They are all "patches" or short term fixes to your under lying health problems, source the real cause and you will be drug free forever.

When I drink lots of water it makes me wake up in the night? Unless you have drunk a lot of water just before bed your body will not wake you up to release fluids.

I can not cut out coffee, what can I do? The best way to take is weak organic coffee with fresh organic cream, no sugar and none after 3pm in the afternoon or this can affect your sleep. Also you should have a tall glass of what before drinking coffee as the cravings for coffee are usually signs of dehydration.

Do mobile phone masts cause cancer? Yes they have significant affect.

How can I stop myself being affect by electromagnetic stress? Wear a Teslor, Qlink or certain crystals (clear quarts, rose quarts, amethysts). Also placing crystals next to electronic devices will absorb the output. You can also but Alloy electro defenders.

Is it better for me to exercise in the morning? Yes but you should not wake up before 6am. You can exercise in the afternoon, but not after 6pm if you have trouble sleeping.

Can I power nap? NASA research has proved up to 15 minute power naps can help your body and are equivalent to one hours rest. The perfect position for your body is you lying with your legs up at a ninety degree angle.

What can men loss weight fast than women? This is because men’s fat cells slowly absorb fat and quickly releases fat, however women are made to survive longer so absorb fat quickly and release slowly.

How can I help my leaking gut? Raw nuts and gelatine.

Should I have protein shakes? No, most protein shakes contain processed ingredients. However there are a limited number of organic ones you could use infrequently such as Goatein and Amuno plus.

I have to do running training, what can I drink to keep me going? A home made mix of the all or some of the following…

  • Gelatine
  • Coconut oil
  • Hot oil
  • Raw eggs
  • Freshly squeezed orange juice
  • Fresh ginger

What is the difference between an allergy and intolerance? An allergy has an instant reaction; an intolerances symptoms surface around 4 days after the product has been taken.

Is everyone one gluten intolerant? 60% of western people are. You can test if you are by completely eliminating gluten foods for 2-3 weeks and see how you feel.

How long should I chew my foods? Until it's a paste.

Should I drink water with a meal? You can drink a very small amount of water with a meal, however it is better to water at least 20 minutes before and 45 minutes after a meal.

I have gall stones, why? The usual cause which affects ladies in their 40's and 50's is years of a low fat diet and dehydration.

How do I know if I am dehydrated? You will feel thirsty all the time, also you maybe constipated, have bad breath, and have bad body odour and other symptoms.

How do we pick up parasites? The common sources are foods and water, handling money, shaking hands and public toilets.

How do I get rid of parasites? There are many ways, but the first and most important information is that parasites are only able to survive in an unhealthy system so eat healthily first.

What can a parasite worm do? It can grow up to 20 cm long and lay up to 25,000 eggs per day.

What are the symptoms of parasites/removal of parasites? A bad digestive system, depression, abnormal jaw line, dairy intolerance, nose itch and waking up in the middle of the night.

If I have a good digestion system how long should it take food to go through my body? From 16 to 65 hours.

What should the perfect "poo" be like? From about 6 inches long, firm but not hard, light brown in colour, an earthy smell and easy to pass.

How should I eat in a relaxed state? You should avoid stress or concentration, so no reading or watching the news or thrillers when eating. Watch comedies, play relaxing music or talk to your family/friends.

What salt can I eat? Unprocessed (off white) sea salt.

  • Dehydration – drink water
  • You may not be moving enough. Exercise stimulates digestion and metabolism.

I want to drink alcohol occasionally, what is best? Firstly it's much easier for a carbohydrate type to drink alcohol; however if no matter what your type if you are having alcohol please stick to your MT and note alcohol is pure carbohydrates, you should eat fat and protein immediately before or after alcohol to stop disrupting your systems too much.

What is the best ways to cook eggs? Boil or poach. The more you cook the more the nutrients are destroyed.

I am a mixed type, what protein is best for me? Medium purine
